Improving the User Experience of a GPS Device Tracking System Admin Page
Background
GPSLive is a company that provides GPS device tracking services to businesses and customers. They have a custom admin page that allows users to manage GPS device activations, subscriptions, storage information, and product sales and purchases. However, the GPSLive has identified several pain points and usability issues with the current page, and has engaged me to conduct a UX-UI design project to improve the user experience and user interface.
Challange
My challenge is to identify key user needs and pain points with the current admin page, and develop a redesign that improves usability, reduces user frustration, and increases efficiency.
Research
To begin the project, I've conducted a thorough review of the existing admin page and interviewed a range of users, including customer service representatives, product managers, and sales and marketing staff. I also conducted a competitive analysis to identify best practices and emerging trends in the GPS device tracking industry.
Findings
Based on my research, I identified several key usability issues with the current admin page, including a confusing user interface, an overly complex workflow for managing device activations and subscriptions, and limited visibility into product sales and purchase information. Users also expressed frustration with the lack of data analytics tools and security features on the current page.
Design Solution
To address these issues, I developed a redesign that features a simplified and streamlined user interface, with clear navigation and visual cues to guide users through the workflow. I also implemented new features to enable more efficient management of device activations and subscriptions, and improved the visibility and accessibility of product sales and purchase information. Additionally, we integrated data analytics tools to help users track system performance and user behavior, and implemented enhanced security features to protect sensitive information.
Results
User testing of the new admin page showed significant improvements in usability and user satisfaction, with users reporting that the new design was much easier to navigate and use effectively. The new data analytics tools and security features were also well-received, providing users with valuable insights into system performance and peace of mind about sensitive information. Overall, the redesign helped our client improve the user experience of their GPS device tracking system, leading to increased employee satisfaction and engagement.
